WP Rocket is one of the most popular web performance plugins for WordPress.
But it is not perfect either. WP Rocket for example has no image optimization features, only lazy loading. But that is a standard feature in WordPress anyway.
WP-Optimize does though. Among other features that make it a good choice for WordPress performance optimization.
But of course WP-Optimize is not perfect either.
So how to decide?
If you want to know which of these tools is right for you, this comparison between WP-Optimize and WP Rocket is just what you need. Here I try to help you with the decision.
What are performance or caching plugins?
Your website’s cache stores your pages to deliver them faster when a visitor opens your WordPress website. This is an important aspect for fast loading of your pages.
This is very important, especially if you used Page Builder.
This is where an optimization plugin comes into play. With browser caching, minify functions, and many other features, caching plugins can improve the speed of your website.
But WP-Optimize and WP Rocket can do much more.
WP Rocket
WP Rocket has the better caching options and minify functions than WP-Optimize. Unfortunately, however, WP Rocket does not have an image compression tool. This is a problem, especially since WP Rocket doesn’t have a free version.
WP Rocket unfortunately doesn’t have a free version, but it does have a money-back guarantee for the first 14 days for no reason.
WP Rocket’s database cleanup tool is also not as good as WP-Optimize’s.
WP Rocket also has more advanced website optimization features and a lot of other additional features like critical CSS and third-party integrations.
If you want to know more about WP Rocket, I have a full review here.
WP-Optimize
WP-Optimize is a plugin from Updraft. It also takes care of caching your website. But it is mostly known for database cleanup and image compression.
In addition to these features, WP-Optimize has recently introduced minification of CSS, HTML and JavaScript files.
It’s a great tool all around.
And it would not be an exaggeration to call it a comprehensive optimization plugin, not just a caching plugin.
But it has some disadvantages.
WP-Optimize does not offer support for third-party CDNs such as Cloudflare. However, it is compatible.
And its caching and minification features are not as strong as WP Rocket’s.
WP-Optimize Vs WP Rocket – Summary
WP-Optimize is the tool for database optimization and image optimization. However, when it comes to caching or performance, WP Rocket is the clear winner.
