Thanks to MobileMonkey, companies can use chatbots to contact future customers via Facebook Messenger.

However, there are also visitors who do not have a Facebook account, or are more cautious where they log in with their Facebook profile. Therefore, MobileMonkey supports 3 options:
- Both Facebook Messenger and web chat
- Facebook Messenger only
- Web chat only
With the first option, MobileMonkey finds out whether the visitor has a Facebook account. If so, it immediately shows: Register as a name. If not, he will use normal web chat.
Now you can simply select “Supports web chat only”. This allows the whole thing to be completely separated from Facebook. But you still need a Facebook page to set up MobileMonkey.

The blue color of the chatbot cannot be adjusted with MobileMonkey.
After the icon has been clicked, the chat window opens with another message.

Flow XO is a quick and easy way to create incredible chatbots. These allow you to communicate and interact with your customers across a variety of different WordPress websites, applications and social media platforms.
Flow XO supports Facebook Messenger, Slack, Telegram, Twilio SMS and a simple web application. I chose the simple web application.
What can the free version do?
With Flow XO you get 500 interactions per month with the free version and a storage of the chat data of only 2 weeks.
In addition, a maximum of 5 bots can be active at the same time.
500 interactions should be more leeway than the 1000 messages that MobileMonkey offers.
The installation on your WordPress site is very easy. You first add your domain to the whitelist so that website visitors cannot use your chatbot for their WordPress site.
Then copy the link and paste it in front of the tag. Finished!

In my opinion, the advantage of the Flow XO chatbot is that the welcome text comes later and not directly.
But I think that can be a matter of taste. This cannot be set with the Flow XO, with the MobileMonkey Chatbot only with the premium option.
You can choose the theme color of the chatbot yourself. In this example it’s blue.
The text in the header, where the chatbot is located, can be adjusted as required.
With the Flow XO chatbot, the window extends over the entire height of the page and overlaps the website. However, this can also be set in the settings.
You can specify the height either in pixels or in percent, but this then applies to all devices.
For me, this is a disadvantage compared to MobileMonkey, where the chatbots are displayed in full screen mode on mobile devices.

The Live chat function of Flow XO allows you to take over an existing conversation. MobileMonkey does not offer this option in the free version.
Which free chatbot is right for you?
The above bots all have their reason to exist.
If you want quick setup and don’t have much time, you should use Tidio or Landbot.io.
Someone who wants a lot of functions, such as the connection to Outlook or Google Sheets, should definitely use Flow XO.
And if basic functions are sufficient, would like to add Facebook Messenger to a web bot and have no problem connecting the chatbot to Facebook, should use MobileMonkey.
For those of you who use HubSpot, the WordPress plugin from HubSpot is almost certainly interesting. This can also be used to create a chatbot.
